I reconstructed the images of my artworks in a 3D virtual space. I usually create installation works with the premise that people will directly experience the work. In this situation, it was impossible to produce the usual output, so I tried to express myself in a virtual space, which I have never done before. By not going outside, I am losing reality in my daily life. I feel that the scenery that I used to take for granted is now sinking into the sea of my memory. While expressing myself in such a virtual space gives me the freedom to transcend physical barriers, there is also an emptiness in not being able to touch the landscape as a material or phenomenon. For me, this work is an experiment of images to start creating again.
This work was exhibited online at “INTRODUCTION EXHIBITION2020 on the web” in June 2020.
